OUR SOCIAL COMMITMENT

For us, giving something back is a matter of course. More precisely, a part of our economic success. That is why 1% of our turnover goes to the environment, including social and ecologically committed organizations.

We are convinced that we can contribute to making the world a little better every day with small and large steps.

HOW WE SELECT ENGAGEMENTS.

All projects that we support are carefully selected and are very important to us. When selecting suitable commitments, we are guided by criteria that are relevant to us. For example, we make sure that we only select projects for which at least 80% of the donations go directly to the cause, that communicate honestly and openly and that publish regular updates. In addition, we are guided by the following goals that are important to us Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, or SDGs for short.

1. OUR SCHOOLS IN NTAMBO, MALAWI.

Helping people to help themselves - the most sensible medium way to tackle social inequalities and challenges in the long term. This is also how our founder Benedikt sees it. That is why we decided very early on to build a primary school in Malawi, one of the poorest countries in the world, to give children and young people access to education. Our Primary School in Ntambo, Malawi, and our Secondary School right next to it, which will be built soon.

2. CLEAN DRINKING WATER FOR ALL

Around two billion people in the world still have no access to clean drinking water. To get water, people often have to travel long distances, as in Kono in Sierra Leone. Often there is only surface water from rivers and lakes, which has to be boiled over an open fire before it can be used safely. This produces harmful smoke and releases greenhouse gas emissions. This is neither good for the environment nor for people's health.

With the Gold Standard certified climate protection project "Clean Drinking Water" in Kono, Sierra Leone, we are offsetting the emissions of our company and product footprint together with ClimatePartner.

3. JUNGLÜCK AGAINST ANIMAL TESTING

Fortunately, animal testing for cosmetic products has been banned in the EU since 2013. However, as there are also some loopholes here, we make sure we check with everyone involved along our supply chain and can confirm this: Our products and their raw materials are not tested on animals, nor do they contain animal ingredients. This is also confirmed by our "PETA Approved Vegan Global Animal Test Policy" certification, which we have held since October 2021.

As it is not enough for us to "just" speak out against animal testing, because the welfare of all living beings is simply very important to us, we support the association Ärzte gegen Tierversuche e.V. with a sponsoring membership.

4. AGAINST THE FLOOD OF PLASTIC

We demand: less plastic, more environmental protection! The fact is that by 2050 there will be more plastic than fish swimming in the oceans. A problem that concerns us all! That's why we are trying to eliminate plastic from our products as far as possible - unfortunately, we haven't managed to do so completely yet, but we hope to solve this challenge soon.

Our shipping boxes are already 100% plastic-free and made from recycled paper fibers. We offset the greenhouse gas emissions that are unfortunately unavoidable in the production of our shipping boxes through the "Marine Protection" climate protection project in Haiti, Indonesia, Brazil and the Philippines, which is run by the Plastic Bank organization. This enables us to promote a project that supports local residents in the fight against plastic pollution.

#STRONGERTOGETHER WITH STARTUPS FOR TOMORROW

We are co-founders of the Startups For Tomorrow association. Together with like-minded start-ups, we want to give sustainable companies and products a stage, offer tips for a greener lifestyle, network across disciplines, attend demos and launch campaigns and petitions. Because together we can and must make a difference in order to achieve our goal: a more sustainable and healthier world in which social and ethical business is not a vision, but a reality.
