08.06.2021 was World Oceans Day. The aim of the day? To raise global awareness of current challenges relating to the oceans. After all, our oceans are the largest habitat on earth. As a German company, it is important for us to also keep an eye on our German oceans and inland waters. To this end, we support the non-profit organization Whale and Dolphin Conservation (WDC) with a marine conservation sponsorship. The organization is committed to the protection of whales and dolphins. The animals have an immense impact on the marine ecosystem: they fertilize the oceans, store carbon dioxide and mix the ocean layers. With their very existence, they contribute to the fight against climate change. In podcast episode #67, Social Media Manager Marie talks to Fabian Ritter, marine biologist at the WDC. He is head of marine conservation and talks in the podcast about why World Oceans Day exists, how polluted German waters are and what the cosmetics industry has to do with it.
