ACTIVE INGREDIENT
Niacinamide

FOR A BALANCED, EVEN COMPLEXION

It is not for nothing that Niacinamide is currently one of the most popular active ingredients on the cosmetics market. Niacinamide regulates sebum production, counteracts inflammation and reduces redness. The best thing about this active ingredient is that all skin types can benefit from it, especially oily, blemished and combination skin skin. We explain exactly how much power Niacinamide contains in detail here.

WHAT IS Niacinamide?

Niacinamide is a substance found in all human cells and is therefore the active and water-soluble form of vitamin B3. Niacin, the collective term for nicotinic acid and nicotinamide, is produced by the human body in the liver from the essential amino acid tryptophan. As nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide NAD and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate NADP, it acts as an antioxidant in a number of enzymatic reactions or, in its reduced form NADH and NADPH, as a redox coenzyme. As an energy building block, Niacinamide regulates cell metabolism and cell renewal. Among other things, it is responsible for the metabolism of proteins, fats and carbohydrates and thus ensures the recovery of skin, muscles, nerves and DNA.

HOW DOES NiacinamideWORK?

As a component of important coenzymes, niacin is responsible for reactions in all body cells. This includes energy metabolism as well as the formation and breakdown of carbohydrates, amino acids and fatty acids. But important processes of cell division and signal transmission in the cells are also dependent on the valuable niacin.

HOW Niacinamide HELPS YOUR SKIN

The positive effect of Niacinamide on the skin's barrier function has been known for some time. And the good news first: damaged skin can actually be regenerated. For example, dry skin in particular is better moisturized because the synthesis of lipids and ceramides in the skin is stimulated. New studies show that a three-month treatment of the skin with 5% Niacinamide-cream significantly reduces hyperpigmentation, skin disorders, lentigines seniles, yellow discoloration and large pores. In addition, Niacinamide ensures a noticeable improvement in skin elasticity and counteracts fine wrinkles while being very well tolerated. mature skin also benefits from vitamin B3 and its derivatives, as they can stimulate collagen synthesis and reduce wrinkles. The increased synthesis of free fatty acids, cholesterol and ceramides reduces water loss from the skin and strengthens the skin barrier overall. In addition to the antioxidant effects, Niacinamide also normalizes the skin's own production of hyaluronic acid.

ADVANTAGES OF Niacinamide

REFINES THE COMPLEXION

Niacinamide improves skin elasticity, counteracts wrinkles and treats redness, pigmentation spots and impurities.

REDUCES THE PORE SIZE

By increasing the production of lipids and ceramides in the skin, Niacinamide supports the refinement of pores and the overall skin structure.

INHIBITS INFLAMMATION

Niacinamide together with Zinc PCA actively counteracts inflammation and supports the skin's self-healing process.

REGENERATES THE CELLS

By stimulating collagen synthesis, the body's own production of hyaluronic acid is also normalized and helps the skin to renew itself.

Niacinamide serum FOR AN EVEN COMPLEXION

Our Niacinamide serum with 10% Niacinamide (vitamin B3) reduces redness, enlarged pores and evens out the complexion. This active ingredient is a real all-rounder for an even, radiant complexion. Thanks to its soothing and regenerating effect, it strengthens the skin's protective barrier and stimulates skin renewal through the formation of new collagen and the skin's own ceramides. It regulates sebum production, reduces redness and pigmentation spots and refines the pores.

Thanks to the antimicrobial effect of zinc PCA (zinc salt), the healing process of blemished skin in particular is supported and inflammation is alleviated. In addition, the skin's own amino acid L-arginine supports the wound healing process. Hyaluronic acid and aloe vera also provide your skin with valuable moisture.

WHO IS Niacinamide SUITABLE FOR?

Combinability & interactions

As Niacinamide is one of our more active ingredients, you should always use products with Niacinamide separately from chemical peels such as AHA and BHA . As an interaction can occur if both Actives react with each other, this combination also impairs the effectiveness and tolerability of the products.

The reason for this is the different pH-value of Actives. Vitamin B3 has a much higher value of around 6.0, while glycolic acid and Salicylic Acid normally have a pH-value between 3.0 and 4.0. This means that Niacinamide raises the pH-value of the hydroxy acids and they are no longer acidic when used together. This can lead to redness and flushing of the skin. On the other hand, Niacinamide is converted into nicotinic acid. Nicotinic acid can lead to dilation of the blood vessels and cause reddening of the skin. Niacinamide should therefore not be combined with acids at all.

Specifically, this applies to the combination of our Niacinamide serum (10% Niacinamide) or Zinc toner (4% Niacinamide) with the following products: AHA peeling, BHA peeling , Retinol serum , Vitamin C ampoules . We recommend that you split certain products between AM and PM or on different days. For example like this: AM Zinc toner, PM BHA peeling . Or Monday evening Niacinamide serum , Tuesday evening AHA peeling . When using active Actives products, you should always be careful not to overburden your skin. The phrase "a lot helps a lot" should therefore be taken with a grain of salt.
