Christmas is only a week away! Time to slow down the pace of the year that has flown by and make time for the things and people we love. To recharge our batteries. And to prepare ourselves for the festive feasts, cookie battles and comatose naps. As a cosmetics brand, the whole team is of course aware of the extra challenge that our skin has to face again and again towards the end of the year. Sugar, alcohol and a rather unbalanced diet, combined with the stress experienced beforehand and perhaps the odd short night out around the holidays.
But it's also perfectly normal and nice to spend a few days eating with your loved ones, laughing, sitting together for a long time and enjoying every cookie and every sip of mulled wine. Balance is the keyword and without (festive) days like these, life would only be half as nice.
That's why this year we want to give you a little insight into the traditions and little Christmas delights of the JUNGLÜCK team. And to keep your skin in balance during this time, we'll also give you our tips on how to keep your skin healthy and lively throughout the festive season.

It has now become a small tradition for us that everyone contributes something to the Christmas Eve meal. The whole thing came about through picky eaters, but also partners from other countries and cultures or simply with different habits. Now Christmas Eve dinner is always a combination of dishes for which my grandma, my parents, my brothers with their partners and my husband and I are in the kitchen and all contribute something. Some of it is very traditional and some is just a favorite meal without much background.
Another tradition is that we all play a board game together before the presents are given and the winner gets to open the package first, the runner-up second and so on. For us, this is always a wonderful way to start the evening. Everyone does something together that otherwise never happens in the group and has fun. Usually something memorable also happens during the game, so you have a great time straight away.
This BHA peeling is my favorite product for removing excess sebum from pores. Especially in December, when I like to nibble on Christmas cookies while reading and family dinners are taking place, hydroxy acid prevents oily skin and blemishes. I use it 3-4 evenings a week, but start using it at the beginning of December.

After all these years, we still have the traditions from our childhood. We children (all grown up and moved out) are not allowed in the living room during the day on the 24th (because the Christ Child decorates the tree and brings the presents). In the evening, we meet in the kitchen with cookies and mulled wine, where my dad reads the Christmas story. Then suddenly a little bell rings and the light in the living room goes on. Only then do we all go into the living room and sing together in front of the tree. After the song, everyone takes time to hug the others individually and say what they are grateful for and what they wish them for the coming year. It's wonderful every year.
My skincare tip for the holidays:This tip actually applies all year round. But with sugar treats and the odd cup of mulled wine, cleansing your face becomes even more important. After all, a good cleanser cleanser lays the foundation for clear pores, a strengthened protective barrier and a stable moisture balance. That's why I love the Cleansing Oil. It offers a gentle but thorough cleanser and removes excess sebum and dead skin cells from the pores. It doesn't dry out the skin, which puts additional stress on it. This makes the following routine steps wonderful Treat.

Random Acts of Kindness are not necessarily a tradition, but always a nice idea, especially at Christmas time.
These can be all kinds of little things, such as giving flowers to a nice neighbor, bringing cookies to a colleague, donating or giving something away, picking up trash and throwing it away or simply telling someone "hey, you did a really good job".
My skincare tip for the holidays:
I love the antioxidants ampoulesespecially for special occasions. They give the skin a wonderful glow! In addition, Astaxanthin - a very powerful antioxidant - combats oxidative stress and gives stressed skin a break. Incidentally, you can also find the antioxidants ampoules in the advent calendar. And very important: drink enough water, of course. Perfect for your Christmas glow!

We have a tradition that everyone has to give a "talk" before the presents are given. However, this doesn't have to be a classic presentation, but can be a poem that you want to share with the others, it can be a game that you play together, it can be a story that you want to tell, a song that you want to sing or something similar. You are completely free in the design of the presentation, it's more about sharing something special with each other. Even though I hated this tradition as a child because it felt forced, I love it even more now. It always makes our evening super emotional, fun, entertaining and just full of love.
My skincare tip for the holidays:
Fresh air and digestive walks. It's simply good to get out in between and breathe deeply. And not just for the skin, but also for the whole body. A winter walk like this stimulates blood circulation and clears your head a little. Just wrap up well so that you don't get cold, especially on your head. In very cold temperatures, I apply a few drops Almond Oil on my face beforehand to warm it up Protect.

A few of my friends and I have been meeting up for ice bathing on Advent Sundays for the last 10 years. This means we go to a lake, chop up the ice if necessary and splash around in the cold water. After these refreshing 5 minutes, we have a warm cup of tea and talk about our feelings... or rather, we talk about where we are slowly regaining our feelings. It's really amazing what happens in the body's chemistry. It puts you in a really good mood and you almost feel a bit high.
My skincare tip for the holidays:
In winter I like to use the Hemp Oil Mask. It intensively nourishes and soothes the skin and strengthens the skin's protective barrier - ideal for weekly ice baths! It's also nice to have a few minutes of quiet time with the mask and just relax. In the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, this is sometimes neglected.

I'm the only one in my family who has left the Cologne area and moved further away. And even though it's only just over 4 hours by train from Munich to home (if everything goes smoothly *knocks on wood*) - I usually only make it to my parents and friends for a weekend every few months. Christmas has therefore felt like coming home for a few years now. It's probably the only time of year when I can really relax and spend time with my family and see the friends I grew up with. Of course, we also have our Christmas traditions, but the best moments for me are the most unassuming ones. Sitting in front of the fireplace with my parents and brother on Christmas Eve, watching old western movies with my dad on Christmas Day or getting ready for the family party in the bathroom with my mom. In the end, I remember these little moments so vividly - it doesn't even matter what presents were under the tree or what there was to eat.
My skincare tip for the holidays:
I am a big fan of the Zinc toner. It has a refreshing, clarifying and anti-inflammatory effect, which is particularly good for my skin in winter. Because in the cold season it can react with spots and dryness, which toner counteracts wonderfully.
The JUNGLÜCK team wishes you happy holidays!
