It feels like there is a new beauty trend every year. An oil, an active ingredient or a water that seems to solve every beauty problem and, when used, turns you into the next Angelina Jolie. After all, she uses this "insider tip" too and just look at her!Yes, sometimes it's difficult to tell what's really as fantastic as it sounds and what's just fake.
But they do exist. The products that can really help. And they can be different for everyone. Of course, it is always a bit dangerous to trust miracle cures. Because what works for one person doesn't necessarily have to be right for you. However, not every beauty trend becomes a myth, but remains one. And for one simple reason: because it works.
THE TREND THAT STAYS: ROSEWATER
A "trend" that started a few years ago. And looks back on several hundred years of history. I can confirm from my own experience and from the feedback from all those around me that this is not just talk.
However, there are some voices that speak against it. They express concerns. Because Rosewater is not the same as Rosewater. And there are a few things you should know and bear in mind.
Because what is Rosewater actually?
Rosewater is a hydrolate. This means that it is created during the production of essential oils through a process known as steam distillation. One kilogram of freshly picked Rose petals (in our case Damask rose) is distilled into one kilogram of water. The resulting water vapor condenses on a cooler and is then liquid again. The result: a pure distillate (hydrolate) without any additives. In this case, the non-volatile phase produces the rose oil and contains the rose's fat-soluble ingredients.
A real win-win situation, as no solvents are required in this manufacturing process and virtually no waste products are produced. Rose oil and Rosewater are used in equal measure. And the content of essential oils in Rosewater is usually negligible. This makes Rosewater a super mild alternative to rose oil, especially for sensitive skin. You can find out more about the properties of Rosewater below.
Rosewater is not the same as Rosewater
If the rose hydrolate has been distilled several times and no longer contains any essential oils, it is also more sensitive to germs and must be preserved. If a Rosewater still contains a significant concentration of essential oils due to insufficient distillation, these must also be listed in the INCIs. Otherwise the product may not appear on the market. If no essential oils are listed, then the proportion is so low that it is not sufficient for preservation.
As a result, there are different types of Rosewater. Some with a proportion of essential oils, others that are preserved or those that do without both but need to be used up quickly. So Rosewater is not the same as Rosewater! However, as we know essential oils have a high allergy potential. And also Preservative, such as alcohols, are also not exactly good for our skin.
As already mentioned, our Rosewater is obtained from Damask roses - medicinal plant of the year 2013. They are grown in the famous Valley of Roses in Bulgaria. Naturally certified organic! Bulgaria is the second largest exporter of rose products in the world after Turkey. Centuries of knowledge combined with perfect geographical and climatic conditions. It could hardly be better!
Thanks to multiple distillation, the junglück Rosewater only contains such a small residual amount of essential oils that it has no irritating effect. This gives us a well-tolerated, natural and vegan organicRosewater bottled in glass.
To guarantee the best shelf life, store the Rosewater in a cool, dark place.
But how does Rosewater work?
Even if there are those who believe that rose hydrosol has a rather low content of important ingredients, I believe thatthe many positive experiences that go back many years speak for themselves. Perhaps this concentration of valuable antioxidants, vitamins (B and C), tannins and pectins is precisely what makes rose water so wonderful and mild at the same time. And for my skin, that of my friends and also that of many customers, Rosewater seems to be just right.
I wouldn't want to miss the antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and moisturizing effect of the spray in my daily routine. Romy will also be doing a podcast episode on this topic in the near future. She is also totally enthusiastic about the soothing and regulating effects of the all-rounder.
