Make green the new normal - Our commitment!

Marie Prötzsch

"As a company, we want to send out a signal that we can no longer treat our climate as carelessly as we have done over the last few decades. There must now be a radical rethink in all areas!" - Benedikt, Founder & CEO

This statement by our founder and CEO, Benedikt, was the first thing that came to mind when I thought about the message I wanted to convey to you in this post. With our holistic, sustainable approach, we don't just hide behind posters, we actually take action. We want to show that you can grow successfully as a company and still act sustainably! Because that's what matters. Not in the future, but NOW! The climate catastrophe is not a secret, but a reality.

Getting active together - #strongertogether

It really is a special time at the moment. Unfortunately in a negative sense. We are facing two major crises: Corona and climate. Both crises require responsible action! And from ALL of us. Because we don't use the hashtag #strongertogether on our channels for nothing. We want to use our reach to encourage as many of you as possible to rethink sustainability. We want to take you with us on social media.

You may have followed us on Instagram and Facebook and seen that we took part in World Cleanup Day and took a stand on the global climate strike. With action days like these, we have the opportunity to make a statement. This way, we can draw attention to exactly where we think it's important.

World Cleanup Day

World Cleanup Day is the world's largest bottom-up citizens' movement to clean up pollution and plastic waste. Millions of volunteers in 180 countries have lent a hand and collected litter from streets, beaches, parks, rivers and forests. As a company, we wanted to be part of this! Because in order to live in a clean, healthy and waste-free world, something has to happen now! We were out and about with the whole team along the Isar in Munich and collected all the garbage that we could find "under" the garbage bag. Incidentally, we were very pleasantly surprised to find less plastic waste than we had previously thought. Unfortunately, there were all the more broken glass bottles.

Climate strike

#KeinGradWeiter - We followed Fridays For Future's declaration of war on the global climate strike day. Together with the startups Everdrop and Etepetete from Startups For Tomorrow we marched to the Theresienwiese in Munich. We didn't mind the pouring rain. For a conscientious climate policy and a Corona-compliant strike, the number of participants was limited to 500. With a distance of 1.5 meters between the participants, we formed a huge "#KeinGradWeiter" lettering.

I still get goosebumps when I think of the two boys, estimated to be barely twelve or thirteen years old, with their megaphone: "What do we want? Climate Justice! When do we want it? Now!" Personally, I find that incredibly powerful! When I think back to my teenage self, I wouldn't have stood up there so easily. I wouldn't have been brave enough to open my mouth. And that's exactly why I celebrate the Fridays For Future Generation so much! They don't hide behind their posters, they make clear statements and clear demands!

It takes effort to use your own voice and make your demands loud and clear. But together we are braver, louder and so much stronger! That's why it was so important for me to work in a company that sets a good example, acts as a role model, is aware of its responsibility and uses its reach to spread environmental awareness and sustainability - and yet doesn't exclude those who don't yet fully embrace these values.

The actions show us once again that together we have the power to make a difference. We can all help to ensure that Germany is part of a global change.

Pioneer for a greener economy

I am therefore all the more pleased that we are co-founders of Start Ups For Tomorrow and that the association's statutes have now been officially signed in Berlin. 9 hours of discussion about sustainability criteria, CO2, packaging waste, supply chains and what we want to change in the economy. We bring sustainable startups and you together as a proactive community to counter the careless and profit-oriented economy. We know no compromises. I think MAKE GREEN THE NEW NORMAL hits the nail on the head! Sustainable action and sustainable commitment should not be a hurdle. It should be the norm. To achieve this, we want to actively shape the market, change consumer behavior and promote sustainable and strategic consumption consumption. This is the only way we can bring about long-term change and, in our case, turn the cosmetics market upside down. We want to make the transition as easy as possible for you and offer you an alternative. By buying our care products, you are doing something good for YOU and the ENVIRONMENT. In our products, you will only find ingredients that are kind to your skin and the environment. We do not use hormones, silicones or unnecessary microplastics that pollute our water.

We are aware that, despite our sustainable packaging and overall concept, we are we are a commercial company and also contribute to consumption. We use resources from our environment and sell products. We take responsibility for this. Not only by acting as an environmentally conscious company, but also by giving something back. To our home country by trying to produce as regionally as possible in small businesses in Germany. And to our environment by planting a tree for every product.

Thank you so much for your active support so far! This makes the WE feeling really big and encourages us to keep going into the future full of energy. Together we have the power to change the world the way we want to see it - #strongertogether"

Take care!
