The shell of our JUNGLÜCK school in Malawi is finished! The school will be built, furnished and equipped by mid-August. And the name is now official: Nakatete abc-Primary in Ntambo. Between 400 and 600 pupils will be able to go to school there. Now, of course, we would like to share everything about the school with you: What do the school grounds look like, what were the reactions in the village and how can we imagine everyday school life?
We have invited Franz-Josef Kuhn to join us. He is a board member of the abc Society - the local partner organization of the Reiner Meutsch Foundation FLY & HELP, with which we are implementing the school construction.
- What do the school grounds look like?
- How would you describe life in the village? Why is it so incredibly necessary to build a school here?
- What are the biggest challenges for children attending school? What are the teachers struggling with and what are the reasons for such a high drop-out rate or absenteeism?
- What was the reaction to the school building in the village?
- Our school is already the 32nd in Malawi that you have built with the abc Society. What are the reasons for your commitment?
- We have donated 3,000 euros for school materials for the start of school. What will you buy for the children?
- How else are the materials financed if not through donations?
- How can we imagine everyday school life in the new school?
- How can we continue to provide support?
