Skin ageing from 25 - Four basic rules for caring for maturing skin

Skin begins to age at around 25. Depending on genetic predisposition, sometimes more, sometimes less quickly. Nevertheless, prevention is the key to success. Because once skin damage has occurred, it becomes more difficult to combat it with simple means.

The skin's biggest enemies are UV rays and free radicals. Both destroy the structure of the skin and cause important elements such as elastin, collagen and hyaluronic acid to dwindle. The skin becomes thinner with age and the number of sweat and sebaceous glands also decreases. The hydrolipid mantle can no longer perform its protective function. The result is sagging, dry skin with little elasticity, resilience and resistance. The skin can be damaged more easily, leading to irritation and inflammation.

UV radiation (known as photo-ageing) causes deeper wrinkles and pigmentation spots. Not to mention skin cancer. To prevent this progressive process of skin ageing, there are various tips and tricks that are best started as early as possible (therefore from around the age of 25).
Since every skin, like every person, is different, it is particularly important to know its condition and needs well. It is therefore important to be careful when categorizing anti-ageing products from 30, 40, 50 and so on. This is because the needs of the skin are not always related to age.

Dry, low-fat skin that tends to wrinkle easily is characteristic of the termmature skin" and therefore predestined for anti-ageing care. However, this can occur in one person at the age of 30, while in another it only starts in their mid-40s. There are therefore more general principles for combating the process of skin ageing!

My four basic rules for caring for mature (expectant) skin are:

    1. UV protection
    2. antioxidants Vitamin C and E
    3. moisture hyaluronic acid / Ceramides

The earlier we start, the better! (Prevention is easier than "treatment").

    UV PROTECTION AGAINST SKIN AGING

The most important thing is UV protection. Regardless of age! AM daily and ideally reapply 1-2 times a day! Not only in summer, but actually always, from a UV index of 3!!! (Read on the Internet which UV index currently prevails)

    ANTIOXIDANTS & VITAMIN C

Antioxidants Protect the skin from free radicals and thus from the destruction of the skin structure. Instead of attacking the skin's own building blocks, the free radicals can join forces with the antioxidants and thus "leave the skin alone"! Vitamin C and E are very potent here and are excellent for protection. I recommend one of our Vitamin C serums. Depending on your experience with active ingredients and the sensitivity of your skin, you can choose between the Intensive and Sensitive serum .

    MOISTURE THROUGH HYALURONIC ACID

As the skin barrier weakens with age and the production of moisture-binding elements in the skin decreases (e.g. hyaluronic acid), it continuously loses moisture. This leads to sagging skin and a dull complexion. Care with hyaluronic acid, aloe vera or ceramides helps the skin to retain moisture better, tightens it and makes it radiant. Our Hyaluron Concentrate is based on aloe vera and provides the skin with optimal moisture deep down. For more richness, the Hyaluron cream medium and rich are a good addition.

And one thing is clear: there is no such thing as ONE miracle cure.
What is important is the interplay of various well-chosen active ingredients and products. Of course, good sleep, drinking plenty of water, a balanced diet and exercise in the fresh air also play a major role in how healthy and radiant our skin is.
